I loved reading Four Thousand Weeks by Oliver Burkeman. While the book is written for individuals, the more I reflected on it, the more I realised how much its lessons apply to teams.
So much collaboration gets stuck because we chase comfort, perfection, and certainty. We hold back waiting to feel ready. We compare ourselves to others. We get tangled in outcomes instead of focusing on how we work together right now.
Burkeman’s reflections made me think:
What if teams embraced imperfection in collaboration?
What if we stopped waiting and started moving with what we have?
What if we spent less time judging ourselves and more time backing ourselves?
Applying these ideas can make teams stronger, faster, and more authentic with each other.
If you’ve read Four Thousand Weeks, I’d love to hear: did it change the way you think about work and life?
At Peopleology, we help teams build the habits, mindset, and courage to collaborate effectively, even when things aren’t perfect.
