Infrastructure Is a Living System

How Infrastructure Works by Deb Chachra is brilliant. It shifted the way I think about infrastructure, not as static objects we build, but as living systems we maintain together.

Chachra’s challenge resonates deeply:

“How do we work together to transform these collective systems? Because the one thing we do know is that these shared systems that shape our lives… can’t be changed appreciably by individual action alone.”

How Infrastructure Works

We see this in collaborative projects all the time. No single person, company, or team can change the system on their own. Real change requires collective commitment that is ongoing, adaptive, and grounded in human effort.

This is what co-ology is about: building the capability to collaborate consciously and consistently.

Consider this: What’s one piece of infrastructure, physical, digital, or relational — that we take for granted? And what would happen if we stopped maintaining it?

At Peopleology, we help teams develop the awareness, habits, and skills needed to maintain shared systems and deliver results collectively.
